Guidelines

Here are some tips on how to get the most out of The Source

  1. Remove track titles and information from your video, it won’t look as good when it goes on to the TV show.
  2. When writing your biography, make it as interesting as you can. This is going to represent you on TV.
  3. For the 'Did you know' or 3 interesting facts, make them interesting! Voters can be put off by dull facts. They can be wacky but remember these will appear on the TV show so try not to make yourselves look uninteresting, it won’t do you any favours and a little effort her will go a long way.
  4. Keep booking information out of the biography, it looks dull and they can go to your website or social media if they want to book you.
  5. Read the terms and conditions, they are there to protect everybody including us. The Source is a co-operative so we have your best intentions at heart but these crazy solicitors put all kinds of legal clauses in and you should be sure you are happy for us to use your material to promote the show.
  6. Make sure you can be available for interviews, our radio show, the weekly shows and the live final. These are vital promotional tools and will help you get votes.
  7. Spread the word as far as you can. Put a link to your video on your website and social media. Get as many votes as you can or you might not make the TV show.
  8. If you submit a live track, make sure you have a good quality recording or you’ll be stuck when it comes to the TV shows and that won’t get you many votes.
